Why Are We Struggling?
Have you ever wondered why life feels like a series of struggles? Why fear often takes centre stage and why so many people abandon their dreams, their missions or even their hope?
Over the past 2.5 years since Guardians of the Codes (GOTC) began, I’ve reflected deeply on these questions. I want to share with you what I’ve learned because understanding the root causes of our struggles can change how we live and heal.
Many of us are focused on fear – fear of failure, rejection, loss or uncertainty. This fear can overwhelm us, that leads us to quit when the journey becomes heavy. I’ve seen it time and again: individuals with so much potential who walk away, thinking they’ll find the answers elsewhere, only to circle back to the same unresolved pain.
The Root Cause of Struggles
Through my work, I’ve discovered that the root of most struggles lies in unhealed traumas. These traumas aren’t always obvious. Some are inherited from our ancestors, carried in our DNA, passed down through generations. Others come from the subtle yet profound experiences we’ve faced in this life and even across multiple lifetimes. We often don’t realise how deeply these wounds shape our choices, reactions, and patterns.
Struggle isn’t just about external circumstances. It’s an internal state, amplified by unresolved emotions and beliefs. And here’s the challenge: most people aren’t aware of these hidden influences. They live on autopilot, unaware of the invisible forces shaping their lives.
The Power of Self-Awareness in Overcoming Struggles
Before I started GOTC, I spent years studying what it means to truly know oneself. What I learned – and now teach – is that pure love and self-awareness are foundational to overcoming struggles. Many of us are disconnected from these truths. We’re so focused on surviving that we forget to value the simple yet profound aspects of life: our breath, our smile, our existence.
This lack of foundational knowledge creates a ripple effect. Without understanding who we are, why we’re here and how we’re connected to everything around us, it’s easy to feel lost. And when we’re lost, the weight of life’s challenges can feel unbearable.
The Importance of Returning to Basics
The key to transformation lies in returning to basics:
- Breathing with intention to ground yourself.
- Recognising the power of a genuine smile to shift energy.
- Valuing yourself as a human being, beyond accomplishments, not for what you do but for who you are.
It also means opening your heart to forgiveness – for yourself and others. This step is crucial. Many people carry wounds from past experiences but they’ve closed their hearts to healing. Without an open heart, it’s almost impossible to move forward.
Healing Fear and Trauma – The Larger Perspective
Our struggles aren’t just personal. They’re part of a larger, interconnected system. Negative influences – both visible and invisible – play a role. From societal pressures to advanced technologies designed to manipulate and instil fear, the challenges we face are complex. But they’re not insurmountable.
By understanding the root causes of our struggles and taking steps to heal, we can begin to transform our lives. This journey isn’t easy, and it often feels heavy. But it’s worth it.
